Welcome

I am so excited to have a new group of students in reading.  I will miss teaching math, but I am excited about the wonderful things we will accomplish the second half of the school year.

Multiplying Decimals and Whole Numbers Using Models

Today, we created models using Decimal Squares to multiply decimals and whole numbers. Here is the practice work we did in class.  Hopefully this will help with your homework.

This is the page you will complete.  I numbered it this way for a reason!

Cause and Effect: Biomes

Based on your research about the different biomes, answer the following questions:

1. What order are the biomes in starting from the poles and moving to the equator?

2. What causes climate zones near the equator to be warmer?

3. What is the effect of landform variations on climate?

4. Choose 2 biomes from your research and compare them (how are they alike and how are they different).

All answers must be numbered based on the corresponding questions, AND all answers must be written in complete sentences.

Comparing Ecosystems

Watch the two videos and take notes on the ecosystems they describe.  Compare the ecosystems from the videos and the chaparral ecosystem from your skill page in the comments section. Be sure you are describing how they are alike and different.

Remembering the Past, Honoring the Present, and Preserving the Future Veteran’s Day Program

On Wednesday, November 11, Lincoln Elementary will be having a Veteran’s Day Program to honor our Veterans and teach the students about the importance of the day.  We will be having a slide show honoring those who have served or are serving our nation.  If you have a photo of someone in your family that has served in the military, you may email a copy of that photo to Mrs. Grimes.  Please use VETERAN PHOTO in the subject of your email.
natasha.grimes@simpson.kyschools.us
You may also send in a copy (not the original) in an envelope labeled with your student’s name and homeroom teacher. The deadline for submitting photos is Friday, October 30.  All copies will be returned if they are labeled properly.  Thank you for supporting our school and our Veterans.
